Glove Care
Keep Your Gloves Match-Ready
Your goalkeeper gloves are one of your most important pieces of kit. How you care for them directly affects their grip, durability, and feel. Follow these steps to get the most out of every pair.
Before Use
Dampen the latex palm with water before every training session or match. This activates the grip and helps protect the latex from drying out and cracking prematurely.
During the Game
Keep your gloves moist throughout play by lightly wetting them when possible. Avoid wiping them on artificial turf or rough surfaces, as this wears down the latex quickly.
After Every Use
- Rinse both sides of the gloves thoroughly with lukewarm water, never hot, as heat breaks down the latex.
- Gently rub away any dirt with your fingers. Do not use brushes, abrasive cloths, or cleaning products with harsh chemicals.
- Lightly squeeze out excess water. Never wring or twist the gloves.
- Leave them to air dry at room temperature, out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources like radiators.
Storage
Once dry, store your gloves flat or in a breathable glove bag. Avoid storing them balled up or compressed, which can damage the latex over time. Keep them away from extreme heat or cold.
What to Avoid
- Machine washing or tumble drying
- Leaving gloves to dry in direct sunlight
- Using bleach, fabric softener, or household detergents
- Storing while still wet (this causes odor and latex degradation)
Extend the Life of Your Latex
Rotating between two pairs when training frequently is the single best thing you can do to preserve grip. Latex needs time to recover between sessions. A well-cared-for pair of Revelation GK gloves will reward you with performance that lasts all season.
